The company is named for a shift we think is real. For a long time, the default answer to any operational problem was another SaaS subscription. AI has lowered the cost of building custom software enough that it often makes more sense to write your own tools than to rent someone else's and work around their assumptions.

Getting something working and getting something you can run a business on are still different problems, though. Reliability, security, and maintainability come from engineering experience, and that's what we offer. We specialize in internal tooling and automation: inventory and invoicing systems, integrations between the platforms you already use, chatbots, and the glue that keeps it all running.

Rewrite Software is a Washington-based company building production-grade tools for communities. Every product is designed, built, and operated by experienced engineers with a bias toward simplicity, reliability, and doing one thing well.

Most software for communities is hobbyist projects and weekend builds. Nobody is building real, production-grade tools for the places communities gather, whether that's a Discord server, a church, or a family business. We think that's a massive missed opportunity. These are the platforms people actually live on, and they deserve the same caliber of software as any enterprise.
